About Us

Hi, I'm Noo's Corner!

My name is Leah and I'm mum to Elanor and Rosemary. My introduction to the world of babywearing started in 2013 when I was pregnant with Elanor. Ergo carriers were the big thing back then. My husband and I chose a black ergo with embroidered stars 'ergo night sky' and an insert and practiced with a teddy. We eagerly awaited Elanor's (or 'Noo' as she was known in utero) arrival and I flitted in and out if online groups talking about best practice for babywearing and newer designs. Through one of these groups I discovered that ring slings are fantastic for newborns, so, we purchased a breeze baby ring sling hoping it would be perfect for the hot Perth Summer, and surely as she grew we would spend time at the beach and get lots of use from our purchase.

Elanor was born in October of 2013 and when she was a couple of weeks old my husband chose to pop her in the ergo carrier in the insert, it was fiddly but she fell straight to sleep and looked so content, we congratulated ourselves! It was coming into a long hot Summer and the ergo with insert was hot so I decided to give the ring sling a go. It was a disaster, she fell out of the bottom and I gave up rather quickly. Fast forward a few months and I began to regularly wear her in the ergo carrier and it was great for both of us. When Elanor was 6 months old we found out Rosie would be joining us. With the close age gap I decided straight away that babywearing would be my saviour. I purchased a little frog wrap and began to attend local meets organised by Baby Wearers Western Australia. The help and support I was given became invaluable and after Rosie was born the meets gave me a community to embrace. I became more and more interested in the world of babywearing moving on from simple carries in machine woven wraps to more intricate carries in handwoven wraps. I found out that courses were offered. I enabled plenty of friends. This is where Noo's Corner was born. I made it my goal to one day have my own business enabling babywearing in new mums. I continued to be active in BWWA and in November of 2015 was elected Vice Chair and in February 2016 became a meet leader. BWWA offers an invaluable free service to parents wanting to learn to baby wear and I still thoroughly recommend them to everyone.
In March of 2016 I attended the babywearing consultant course with  Babywearing School of Australia (Exams pending) and in April Noo's Corner launched.
I offer private babywearing consults to parents and tailored workshops to small groups designed to meet your exact needs. Whether pregnant or with children already you can try a range of style of carriers selected to suit your needs. I will show you how to adjust them and wear them safely and correctly either in the privacy of your own home or at Noo's corner. If you live rural I am available to skype with you to discuss what carrier will work for you and to troubleshoot any issues you are having.
I look forward to hearing from you soon,
With love, Leah
