Olives and Applesauce Review

I tried out an olives and applesauce carrier from Kaas kids over the course of week, including a family camping holiday. We picked it up heading to our camp site, and had a 12 month old and 2.3 year old waiting to be worn. I love the panel size, I feel like even with the inbuilt insert (that took me a while to figure out, but now I know how it works it's great!) it's too large to be a good 'every day of wearing' carrier but it's perfect for kids too big for the panels on a baby carrier but to small for a dedicated toddler carrier. The little features on this carrier are what make it great. The straps can be tightened in two directions getting a much better fit no matter your body shape. The straps are lightly padded for comfort but not so much they are bulky, and in a front carry they can be crossed over for a better fit. My absolute favourite feature is how adjustable the chest clip is! As a very busty babywearer I have trouble with many other brands as the chest clip painfully compresses my bust or doesn't sit comfortably but with the O&A I can adjust it to sit underneath my bust which was amazing. The carrier felt comfortable on for our short walks from campsite to pub and beach but I wore it for an extended period of 2 hours whilst we were setting the tent up. It was 40 degrees and neither of us were overly sweaty but it did start to get a little diggy. This may be due to it being my first time wearing it and not adjusting it correctly for us. The only feature I strongly dislike is the hood. It's near impossible to do up on your own in a front or back carry and even with help we struggled to clip it up. My daughter is 11.3kg and 75cm tall. I didn't get a chance to put the 2 year old in it but I'm told they are great with the bigger toddlers too. For the price I think this carrier is a great option for anyone wanting more use from a soft structured carrier than they would get with another carrier on the market such as an ergobaby but I think for us we will look at a dedicated toddler size.
