Ruckabye Baby Wrap Conversions Gathered Shoulder Ring Sling Review

Ruckabye Baby Wrap Conversions, is owned and operated by Perth mum and avid babywearer Arrianne. Currently on offer are conversions for ring slings in a gathered or hybrid shoulder style and full buckle carriers.

Arrianne gave me a gathered shoulder ring sling conversion to test and I happily set to work. On inspection there are 4 rows of neat straight and equally placed stitches made from Gutterman polyester thread, colour matched to the wrap so that they are almost hidden. There’s a bit of bounce and stretch to the material around the stitches, more movement than in other ring slings I’ve tried, but it worked, and helped the shoulder to sit nicely on me. As both of my children seem to only sleep when I need them to go up I had to use Greta our 3.5kg infant sized demo doll to test the ring sling to start with. She was secure with no threat of give on the stitches, and the shoulder was really comfortable. When the girls woke up I put the smaller toddler up. She weighs almost 12kg and at the time was channeling a jellyfish with floppy arms and legs everywhere and an arched back, but the ring sling did its job and she was safe and secure and it held up better than I was expecting under her bulk and fussing.

So in conclusion I’d happily send a wrap to Ruckabye Baby to have a gathered shoulder conversion. Her communication regarding the tester has been professional, and her workmanship is ace!
